At The Fitzgerald Channelside, our community has a wide selection of amazing amenities that you and your furry friend can take advantage of. With so much time spent at home, this time is not only tough for you, but for your pet, as well. View our tips for caring for your pet during this time and make the most out of the time spent with them at our Tampa apartments.
#1 Take Turns Helping
If you live with a roommate, significant other, or with family, it will make things easier on everyone if you all take turns taking care of your pet and helping each other out. This is especially a good idea if you have children. Taking care of pets will give them something to do and it will teach them responsibility along the way. You can even make it fun with a chart and you can give the kids a special reward if they complete everything at the end of the week. By spreading out who takes care of the pet, you can take some pressure off of yourself and your pet will feel extra loved by all of the people giving them attention.
#2 Stick to Routine
It may seem like schedules are more relaxed for everyone during this time, but your pet doesn’t realize that. Pets rely on a routine during the day and it is important to stick to their typical routine. If they are used to eating at a certain time, make it a point to feed them at the same time every day, this goes for bathroom breaks, as well. Keeping them on their usual routine will make adjusting to their new normal easier, but it will also ensure that they can easily adjust back once you are able to leave the house regularly. Pets rely on their routine for a sense of normalcy and this is the best way to ensure them that things are okay.
#3 Keep Them Groomed
Grooming is an essential part of keeping your pet healthy. During this time, many groomers are closed so you may have to take it upon yourself to keep your pet’s fur in the best condition possible. Even though you aren’t a trained professional, you can still bathe your pet and brush them out so their fur doesn’t become matted. You may also want to consult your groomer on what tips they have for managing your pet’s grooming needs until they are able to go in.
At our Tampa apartments, your pet’s needs are also important to keep in mind during this difficult time. Come home to The Fitzgerald Channelside and contact us today for more information!
